If you would like an additional driver added to the contract we can do that at no additional charge however we will require that they have their driver’s license and be listed as a driver on the primary driver’s insurance policy or have proof of their own full coverage insurance policy.
We accept cash (but will need a credit card on file as we will place a hold on it which can be released upon the return of your rental), Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. The credit card must be in the same name as the primary driver’s license on file! ***Please note that debit cards can be used for payment but we will also need a major credit card (non-debit) on file as we will place a hold on the major credit card which can be released upon the return of your rental***
Yes, you can! We do not charge your credit card upon making your reservation with us, it is simply put on file to hold your specified reservation vehicle size and dates. When you arrive on site at your specified location we will ask to swipe the credit card that you would like to use for payment.***Please note debit cards will not be accepted upon pick-up of your rental vehicle. Credit cards must be in the same name as the primary renter’s driver’s license and this person must be present upon pickup of the rental vehicle. No, we do not! All of our rental cars, including the Vanderhall autocycles, are no animals allowed, no smoking allowed vehicles!
We do offer a Full Coverage Insurance Add-on that combines with your existing liability insurance to bring you up to full coverage level or go in place of your full coverage insurance. There are some stipulations to note with this insurance however:
-There is a $250 deductible with this insurance if you need to use due to an incident
-This add-on covers the rental vehicle ONLY, so in case of a collision with another’s vehicle or property your liability insurance would kick in for that side of the incident
-This add-on does NOT cover any loss of use of the rental car if you have an incident that inflicts enough damage where the vehicle is no longer safe for us to rent until fixed
The above stipulations/parameters are why most of our rental customers choose just to use their personal insurance coverage to cover the rented vehicle with us.

Yes, we do! All of our locations have drop boxes. The following is the location the drop box at each of our locations:
-Rapid City, SD: Drop box is a silver slot located on the left/south side of the office building just to the left of the door about a foot and a half off the ground.
-Hill City, SD: Drop box is a 6”x10” black metal box mounted to the wooden stairs going up to the front door of the trailer/mobile office

–Dave’s World Tours: 605-673-1130, We have found Dave’s World Tours a pleasure to work with! They are a locally owned & operated tour company that also does shuttles! They primarily cater to the southern black hills but offer shuttles in the Custer & Hill City area as well as a shuttle service to and from the Rapid City Regional Airport(RAP)! It is best to schedule your shuttle ahead of time but definitely worth a check if last minute too!

We will confirm your request to cancel by replying with your cancellation receipt. Please allow up to 6 business hours for us to process your cancellation request. : Our insurance company does NOT allow towing of any type and therefore we do NOT allow towing. All of our rental cars that have a receiver hitch installed will have a locking hitch pin in place to prohibit towing.
We do not, all of our rental vehicles are locally owned and therefore must be returned to the same location they were picked up from.
Due to limited man power we cannot offer this service at this time. You must return your rental vehicle to the same location that it was picked up from, failure to do so will come with substantial fees.
We don’t necessarily offer a delivery service per say however we do offer a pick-up & drop-off service that entails us picking you up in your selected rental car, UTV/Side-by-Side or Vanderhall and driving you back to our location to do the required paperwork before sending you on your way. When it comes time to return your rental you will drive to our location and we will then drive you and your rental back to your desired location and drop you off. Cost of this service varies depending on which of our locations you are booking through, how far your desired pick-up location is from our location and availability of staff to do so. For us to accurately quote you for this service please give us a call. ***Please note that this service must be done during each locations fully staffed business hours and that may vary from each locations regular business hours.***.
Unless specified otherwise during the pick-up process all of our vehicles will leave our location with a full tank of gas. We will expect all rentals to be returned full unless specified otherwise by your rental assistant.
Yes, absolutely! All of our locations can accommodate even the largest class A RVs without having to back up or do a multiple point turn! Depending on the location either pull in, park off to the side and then pull out or park on street side and pull around the block to exit. For specific tips based on your specified pickup location and the direction you are coming from please call your specified pickup location at the phone number found at the top of your reservation confirmation email.
Unfortunately, none of our locations have enough room to accommodate parking of any size RV for more than about the 15min that it takes to pull in and pick up your rental vehicle. Each location can however give you a recommendation on where to park your RV in the local area, just ask your rental agent when you arrive at your pickup location!
Absolutely! Each rental car and Vanderhall autocycle gets an interior wipe down and vacuum after each use and exterior washes are done when needed. Our side-by-sides are expected to be returned reasonably clean in and out but touch up cleaning is done as needed. Please note that during times like COVID-19, flu season etc. we pay special attention to cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces that are normally touched on the rental cars and Vanderhall autocycles to help you feel 100% comfortable to hop in and just enjoy! ***Please note that all of our rental cars including the Vanderhall autocycles are no animals allowed, no smoking allowed vehicles!***
Please bring your driver’s license and a major credit card(debit cards will not be accepted upon pick up). If you have your own helmet we recommend bringing it for your own comfort. We recommend a helmet for all drivers and riders but only riders that are under the age of 18 are required by South Dakota State law to wear a helmet. We try our best to have a fair amount of each size loaner helmets available however there may be certain sizes that we run out of on busy days. Even though all of our machines do have full windshields it is always smart to bring some sort of eye protection with you. We recommend either sunglasses or goggles(these are not included with loaner helmets). Please come dressed and prepared to get dusty and dirty. On cooler days we recommend dressing in layers. If the forecast calls for rain please bring waterproof rain gear with you. Sunscreen is a good idea to bring with you as well. We recommend wearing closed toe shoes. Our machines do have room for coolers and we highly recommend bringing some water and snacks with you(we can loan you a strap to keep it in place). There are also some ultra-scenic spots to stop for a picnic while out on the trails as well!
All UTV/Side-by-Side rentals include an in-depth orientation upon pick-up/check-out. All UTV/Side-by-Sides come with a GPS tablet mounted in them with the Avenza map app loaded as well as way points for scenic areas! Washing of your UTV/Side-by-Side rental unit is NOT included in the rental price, you will receive your unit reasonably clean(not spit shined, waxed or detailed) and we will ask that you return it reasonably clean. There is a local manual bay carwash that we will direct you towards. Gas is NOT included in the rental price. Your rental machine will have a full tank of gas when leaving our location and we will expect you to return it with a full tank of gas. If the machine is not returned full there will be $10.00/gallon charge to your card on file. The renter is liable for any damages to the machine(See FAQ “Do you offer insurance I can buy with your UTV/Side-by-Side’s?” for more details).
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early for your rental but 20-30 minutes early is better yet! This allows you time to get through all the paperwork and for us to get you orientated with your rental machine. ***Please note everyone who will be driving AND riding will need to be present at our location to sign the waiver!*** Children under the age of 18 do not have to sign for themselves but a parent or guardian will need to sign for them. If you are a large group we recommend coming in the day before to do all the paperwork as this helps get you in, out and having fun faster! We will also get everyone sized for a helmet. Per South Dakota state law every passenger/rider under the age of 18 must wear a helmet while in the UTV/Side-by-Side. We try our best to have a fair amount of each size loaner helmet available however there may be certain sizes that we run out of on busy days so if you have your own DOT certified helmets you are more than welcome to bring them for your own comfort. We will go over some areas we recommend on the provided tablet GPS with you as well as areas we don’t recommend. Of course we will get you oriented with your rental machine. If you are not familiar with how to drive them already do not fret! We will guide you through every detail that you need to know! We want to help make your experience as enjoyable as possible so we are happy to answer any questions you may have!
No prior experience is required at all! At Team UTV Rentals we will give you all the instruction you need to make sure you are comfortable in the side by side as well as giving you suggestions on what terrain would be best for your skill level!
Great question! We have implemented a couple things to help you not get lost out there, they are the following:
-First and most helpful is a tablet GPS mounted right in your rental UTV/Side-by-Side! Using the Avenza Map App on a highly water resistant tablet that does not rely on cellular based GPS is a total game changer! We turn on the tracking prior to you starting your adventure so the tablet GPS draws a line everywhere you move throughout the day and if you get turned around just follow your same line out that you took in!
-We give you tips on where to go based on what types of sights you want to see or activities you want to accomplish and giving you landmarks that you will pass by along the way. That way if you do get turned around and can’t figure it out we should be able to help you figure out where you are at. Combine this with in-depth orientation on the maps and you have some serious knowledge of your plan prior to leaving on your adventure!
We have had great success with this set-up and method and are confident that we can help even the most prone to getting lost have an outstanding adventure out there on the trails! If you still get lost we will ask that you give us a call or shoot us a text so we can help you figure out where you’re at. Cell signal can be spotty out on the trails but it is actually surprising at times how good of signal Verizon & AT&T have out on the trails. If you do not have cell signal we recommend asking a fellow person on the trail or going to one of the many landmarks out there and asking to use their phone. We are proud to say that since we have implemented the tablet GPS’s we have had no customers get turned around or lost while on their adventure!
We only currently offer insurance that covers a UTV Side-by-Side tire in case one is damaged while on rent(see FAQ on tire insurance for more details). In order to rent a UTV/Side-by-Side with us the primary renter will be required to read, initial and sign our contract multiple times saying they understand there is no insurance provided and they understand they will be liable for any damage that they incur while on rent as well as any loss of use that is incurred due to the rental being out of commission due to the damage they inflicted while on rent. This can all sound scary to some but we are proud to say we give extremely thorough instruction on our rentals so you have the knowledge you need to avoid damage while on rent and the very few issues we have had are almost exclusively due to negligence or operator error.
The following are the details on the tire insurance we offer on our UTV/Side-by-Side’s:
-If purchased, renter of UTV/Side-by-Side will not be charged if they puncture or destroy any singular tire of the rented UTV/Side-by-Side
-If purchased, renter of UTV/Side-by-Side will not be charged the rescue fee required for Team UTV Rentals to come out to renter’s location and change any singular tire of the rented UTV/Side-by-Side
-This covers only a singular tire, if multiple tires are punctured or destroyed the renter will be liable for the other tires and a rescue fee if separate trips are required
-If the renter’s rescue location is 40 or more miles from the pickup location the renter will be liable for the extra distance rescue costs involved
-This covers only a singular tire and single rescue fee, damage to the UTV/Side-by-Side’s rims, lug nuts, studs, wheel hub, trailing arms, control arms or any other components will be charged to the renter
Unfortunately due to insurance reasons we can’t allow our UTV/Side-by-Sides to be kept overnight. All UTV/Side-by-Side rentals must be picked and returned within one business days operating hours.
All you need is a valid driver’s license and a major credit card in your name(no debit cards). The Vanderhall is classified as an auto-cycle, so you don’t need a motorcycle license in the State of South Dakota for any of our rentals.
